Russia Fighter Jet Confronts US Drone Over Black Sea

A Russian Su-27 fighter jet intercepted a US RQ-4B Global Hawk surveillance drone in the Black Sea.
The encounters between Russian fighter jets and US drones have become frequent amid increasing tensions over the war in Ukraine.
Russian military officials said the US drone was about to violate the country’s airspace, but it was averted successfully.
US Drone Forced To Stay Away
TASS, a Russian state news agency, quoted the Russian Defence Ministry that a US drone was averted from entering its airspace over the black sea.
The statement said a US surveillance drone suspected of spying was scrambled by a Su-27 fighter jet to prevent it from penetrating Russian airspace.
Encounters Have Increased
Aireal encounters between Russia and the US have increased in the past several months, precisely after Russia invaded Ukraine.
In July, two Russian jets fired flares at US drones flying over Syria.
In March, a Russian Su-27 fighter forced a US MQ-9 drone to land after being spotted over the black sea.
