Startup Seeks People For Brain-Implant

Elon Musk’s Neuralink is now looking for people to join its initial human experiment. A robot will assist in placing a brain-computer interface, allowing individuals to manage a computer cursor or type solely through their thoughts.

Individuals who are 22-year-old and have quadriplegia due to spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the company said.

Critics

A robot will be used to put in a brain-computer connection that allows them to move a computer pointer or type by just thinking.

Neuralink’s aim with these human tests is to one day let someone with paralysis operate a computer or phone solely using their thoughts. Opponents have raised ethical concerns about Elon Musk’s startup but they don’t seem to make any difference amid the hype.
