US Cancer Death Rate Falls 33% Since 1991, Report Says

Cancer death rate in the United States fell by 33% in the last 3 decades, according to an annual cancer report by American Association for Cancer Research.

The report painted an optimistic picture as the disease had shown an increase for some years. The report focused on cancer death rates between 1991 and 2020.

The report also published a detailed discussion over the approvals of the FDA regarding different cancer therapeutics in the past several years.

The researchers revealed extensive progress in the field of cancer studies which have decreased the death rate in the US. 

3.8 Million Death Averted

The report mentioned that overall, 3.8 million cancer deaths have been averted.

The mortality rate of breast cancer declined by a staggering 46% with an estimated 460,000 fewer deaths. Cancer patients aged 14 and younger saw a stunning 70% decline in the past 5 decades.
