Mexico Wants Probe How US Weapons Finding Its Way To Cartel Hands

The Mexican government demanded an urgent investigation into how US-grade weapons are finding its way to the hands of Mexican drug cartels.
Powerful and dangerous drug cartels have been using US-made weapons to fight Mexican forces for years and the government is paralyzed.
The Associated Press reported that the Mexican army is finding US made weapons in Mexico that are not for civilian use in the United States.
Mexico Demands Investigation
Mexico’s top diplomat and Foreign Relations Secretary Alicia Bárcena said there must be an investigation in the matter.
He claimed that the Mexican authorities have protested to their American counterparts about “weapons entering Mexico that are for the exclusive use of the U.S. army,”
US Ambassador To Mexico Assured Probe
According to the reports, the US ambassador to Mexico has assured the Mexican government that they’ll look into the issue.
“We are going to look into it, we are committed to working with Sedena (Mexico’s Defense Department) to see what’s going on,” Ken Salazar said.
